Snow In The Forecast

Yeah, wouldn’t that be sweet! It was just a matter of weeks since I was bitchin’ about the lingering snow and today I’m wilting in the 80+ degree sunshine! Pardon me while I sip some ice cold lemonade. ;)  I even thought about installing my air conditioners! I remember sweating my ass off putting them in and promising myself I wouldn’t wait till the last minute this year. Soooo, maybe I’ll do that…tomorrow!

I wonder if a person can stay in the pool all day, hmmm? Maybe someone living along the East coast could answer that question.

Slow Day

Well, the thunder boomers have arrived. Just a few minutes ago the sun was stabbing me in the eye, then it got dark and then the rolling thunder. Aha, the rain cometh!

Tonight I'm going to watch an old James Cagney movie: 13 Rue Madeleine. It is a great spy movie and I enjoy it every time I see it.

Still haven't hooked up with my brother. Got up real early this morning. Must have been too early 'cause I went back to bed and slept till 12:30 in the afternoon! Ahhh, the bliss of retirement!

I Remember

The blahs are starting to leave; I feel a bit better!

I put the new memory in my computer, now I have 8 gb of ram instead of 2 and there is a noticeable difference in performance. I can run tons of apps with no slowdown! I’m glad I didn’t upgrade the whole computer; this one will do fine for quite some time yet.

Everyone is geared up for Memorial Day, but there are a few families dealing with loved ones who are sick and ailing and we all feel for them, but this day of remembrance is for those who have died or were wounded while defending the freedom and life that we enjoy. We all remember someone who heeded the call to duty and made the ultimate sacrifice.

THANK YOU ALL, where ever you are.

Ho Hum

Not feeling so good today. Stomach is queasy and just feel blah. Supposed to have dinner with my brother and his wife, but I think I'll go take a nap instead. Hopefully, I'll feel all good and refreshed when I get up! Sorry I don't have more to say right now.

News worthy

In the news is a story of a news anchor calling a female talk show host a ‘slut’ because of her political views. The man got a one week suspension without pay.  You read all the time about kids being sent home and suspended from school for things like bringing a toy soldier for show and tell because of the schools’ ‘zero tolerance’ policies. Well, where the hell is zero tolerance for adults?! Something is way wrong when someone can go on national tv and say stuff like that and only get a week off; he should have been fired!

Debating on whether to get in the pool later or just take a shower. Lol

Lamenting

Almost a holiday weekend already but it sure doesn’t feel like it. I think it’s because the weather has been so nasty. Kinda saps the joy right of you. And they’re predicting rain every day over the weekend.

I wonder if I was helpful to my parents when I was a child.  I know I thought (and still do) that I worked my ass off all the time, but I wonder if they considered me helpful. I’ll never know now unless we meet again in the wild blue yonder. As you get older, you see that some of the things you blamed them for were really out of their control at the time.   Ah well, the world takes another turn and life goes on.

Tuesday

Gotta go to the Dr.s office for routine blood draw and pee in the cup routine. This one is fasting, so I'm getting a little hungry about now!

Guess what; I hit a turkey (or did it hit me) on the way to town today! A nice fat hen flew up in front of my car and , WHAM, it glanced off the front and bounced to the side of the road. Feathers were flying everywhere! Luckily, there was no damage to my car. It was still there when I came back; the ravens and crows hadn't seen it yet, which was unusual.

Memories

Computer memory, that is! I decided to expand the memory on my pc and discovered that prices have really come down since I put this machine together 4 years ago. What a can of worms I opened when I started shopping around the net.  I HAD to check out all the new stuff and that consumed the last 5 hours so far! Matching different CPU's to different motherboards, etc., etc., etc.! I even started looking at lap tops! What do I need with a lap top?! I know some of you use lap tops; how about giving me your input on lap tops vs towers? I would really appreciate any thoughts on this.

The never ending rain is still in the area. On again, off again. Sigh! Last night, during the tornado watch, I viewed an awesome lightning show accompanied by thunderous surround sound! Made me shut my computer down for a few hours, just in case!

The Weather

When I woke up this morning, I rolled over and looked at the window, thinking that I had to wash them pretty soon.  After peering a little closer, I saw that it wasn’t the windows – It was the fog outside! The fog gave way to rain and lightning and thunder for a couple of hours. Totally damp morning.

Well, it cleared up and became sunny this afternoon, but now we’re back in gloominess with lightning and thunder in the far West, AND there is a tornado watch up! Let’s hope the foul weather stays down in Wisconsin where it belongs!

Stuff

Been sleeping with the window open and enjoying the fresh air lately. Glad I’m not plagued by allergies as a lot of people are.

Watched the final 5 episodes of Bones last night. The Bones and Booth pregnancy was quite the finale! Next season should be interesting. DVRs are great!

Tonight, if I don’t go out, I’m either watching ‘The King’s Speech’ or ‘No Strings Attached’. Fresh popcorn and drinks await! Hell, maybe I’ll make it a double feature!

I see where Obama thinks he doesn’t need Congressional approval for the war in Libya. Where does the bastard get off?!! I think it is time for Congress to take its war powers back!
