Nature is funny. It's sneaky. Seems like just the other day I was looking at the trees and wondering when the leaves would appear. Late yesterday afternoon I was standing on my porch and noticed that the tree branches didn't look so skinny and thin anymore. Today, sitting on the edge of my bed and looking out the window, I saw that the trees had sprung their leaves mightily! I then looked down at the yard and saw, to my chagrin ,DANDELIONS! Don't get me wrong, I like dandelions as a flower but hate them as a weed. Peering closer, I saw that the grass was beginning to look more like a jungle than a green carpet! Guess my ass will be riding the mower shortly!
I might be getting some asparagus and rhubarb from a friend of mine. I sure hope so 'cause I love them both! I planted some rhubarb last Spring, but it's not doing well. Should have taken better care of it, I guess.
Discovered that people are reading my blog, but for some reason I don't see them leaving any comments. Why is this?
Bless you, my child.

Friends and Idiots
Yesterday, on my way home from shopping, I stopped at a local watering hole and had an absolutely great time with some friends I hadn't seen in a while. Really good time!
Now we come to the idiot part, and that is obama's statement regarding Israel. Not only were his remarks totally crazy, but to say them one day before meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister shows a complete lack of diplomatic decorum.
We MUST get rid of this maniac at the next election!
Bless you, my child.

New Day
New day dawning! For some strange reason, I'm up and about at 6:30 this morning! Coffee is on and I feel peppy! What's up with that?! lol The sky is overcast but it's 54 degrees so, not so bad. Let's see what this day brings! Yeeee Haaawwww!!!
Well, took a shower before heading into town and guess what....it's raining now! We can do without rain for a few weeks here, ok?!!
Bless you, my child.

Creatures
The House of the Rising Sun by the Animals always takes me back in time. While attending communications school in Florida, I had the opportunity to go to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans; what a blast! After completing the school, I was stationed at Adak, Alaska, a desolate and lonely place where the tallest tree was about 3 feet high and the tourist attractions were the Quonset huts, bunkers and metal runways left from WWII. And the magnificent American eagles! Anyway, that song hit the charts while I was there and, having just had my encounter with New Orleans, I made an association with it that has lasted till this day. The same feelings, the same thoughts, the same everything as back then. Amazing. That song was playing on the radio when I sat down to write.
I was going to write a little about the creatures around me and how they seem to go about their lives with little regard to my being here, watching them. What must they think of that creature peering at them through a window? Are they even aware? Hmmmm, I must ponder this some more and continue at a later date.

The Buffoon
How humiliating. To be lied to. To be misled. To be bamboozled. To have promises broken. To have your pride wither on the vine.
That applies to all who ardently supported Obama in his campaign for the Presidency of the United States. The very people who believed he was the one to help them are the ones suffering most at his hands and by his policies.
Now he has started his re-election campaign using the same techniques; lies, twisted words and misleading facts.
We must work to remove this man from office before he destroys our fine nation.
Bless you, my child.

Gloomy Day
Sitting here at my keyboard looking out the window at the rain come drizzling down. I had planned on going to the Model T show this afternoon, but it is being held at a farm and if, as is likely, they are on display in their parking lot...well, with the rain we've been having I'm sure it is a sea of mud. So be it. I'm fascinated by old cars and trucks; always have been even before I, my self, had become 'old'!
Going to make some humming bird syrup today. I have a feeder hanging about 3 feet from my living room windows and have seen the little birds checking it out for the past 2 days.
I could do some laundry; that's on the list of endless possibilities.
Right now, I think I'll go refill my coffee cup!

Something for nothing
Most folks are happy when they can get something for free, right? But what is really free in this world anymore? For instance, look at the social network, Facebook. It started out nice, a place to interact with like people and a place to make new friends, but have you noticed all the advertising crowding the page? Every day there is more and more junk you have to wade through. All those apps that are supposed to enhance your web experience but all they have become are time consuming clutter.
And there are the games! Oh, yes, they promise you the world in fun and frolic; just let them use your personal info (and that of your friends) and away you go! Until you reach a level that requires more resources than you have accrued. No problem; just get 15 more friends to play and you're all set again. Can't do that? Ok, then you can simply buy more coins with your credit card and keep on playing. Strange how all the games are structured the same way; let fools, uh, I mean folks play for free then BAM, make them pay, pay, pay to play!
Something For Nothing, And The Checks Are Free
